Surgery is the last option, not the first
A great many shoulder, knee and hip problems settle with an accurate diagnosis, the right injection or a properly supervised rehabilitation programme. The value of a specialist is knowing which problems need an operation and which do not.
Every consultation begins with a full history and examination, and only the imaging that will change the decision, rather than a scan ordered by reflex. If surgery is the right answer, you will be told plainly what it involves, what recovery looks like week by week, and what the realistic limits of the result are.

Surgery moves quickly, and staying current means contributing rather than simply reading. Dr Malik has published in peer-reviewed orthopaedic journals, contributed to multi-centre research, presented at national and international meetings and teaches trainee surgeons.
He completed the British Orthopaedic Association’s Future Leaders Programme and holds life membership of ISKSAA and the Delhi Orthopaedic Association.
Admission as a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh.
